Just Jazz Records is an independent distributor of contemporary free music. Our specialty is supplying titles from independent labels that other distributors do not supply. Our mission is to increase the public listening to contemporary jazz, and other new, free, improvised, and cutting edge music. Jazz is music that originates in an Afro-American idiom and has developed into a musical world language. Jazz influences and is influenced by all other musics - ambient, classical, environmental, ethnic, experimental, industrial, metal, and of course rock, rhythm and blues.

All of the music we distribute has been, is, and will continue to be pivotal in fashioning this development across all musical genres. And the labels we support, in turn support the finest and most influential free and improvising players of the last 30 years and from all over the world today. As Leo Feigin says, it's not the origins of the musicians that's important, it's the originality of the music that matters. Just Jazz Records began distributing music in September 1996.
